Over the weekend I catered my parents’ Golden (Fiftieth) Jubilee (Celebration of a Milestone Anniversary). When we began planning this event I told her: You can have ONE or the OTHER. I’ll cater or I’ll bake. And then I told her about this bakery here in Easley, SC: Tip Top Cake Shop.
Secretly I was in hopes of doing the meal because I LOVE me some TTCS!
They did my surprise Red Velvet cupcakes from my beau for my birthday and I don’t see much point in making my own anymore when I only want a few. These are so good I don’t bother lifting a mixer head.
Back to the beautiful cakes they did for the Jubilee. Mom wanted this whole Gold and Ivory color scheme with hints of spring pastels here and there. She loves small things (Very appropriate- she’s so small!) so instead of a three tiered cake she ordered a smaller two tier and three dozen Petit Fours glazed in white icing with lovey shades of pink and lavender drizzled all over the tops. She took a rough sketch of what she wanted the cake to look like and they turned it into a darling I was Almost hesitant to cut!
The Petit Fours all disappeared before the main cake got cut!
Ya’ll know I’m Gluten Free and so does Kendall! She knew I’d need my own secret cake stash and when we picked up the cakes Mom ordered she surprised my with the GF counterpart to Mom’s Jubilee cakes!
This cake was SO GOOD. It got decimated. Completely Obliterated. And half of the attendees were already gone! It was a Tip Top Cake Shop Italian Creme Cake and it was like none I’d ever had before! It was sweeter and so moist. It had something we couldn’t quite put our fingers on…
Kendall revealed her family’s secret ingredient but only because I promised not to blab! All you really need to know is that it’s worth going to Tip Top Cake Shop for all of your Italian Creme Cakes from now on. And for your Morning Muffins, cookie sandwiches, varied cup cakes and BROWNIES- OOOH! and just about any other scrumptious sweet you can think of. Like their Facebook Page (One more time for luck: https://www.facebook.com/Tiptopcakeshop ) to check out what is going on. I hope to see you in the Cupcake Bar line during Happy Hour Very Soon!
Thanks to Kendall at Tip Top Cake Shop for being a part of my parent’s celebration. She made delicious cakes that were also beautiful and affordable. She took a lot of the pressure off of Pequliermo and I! If I’d decorated the hall, shopped for all of the meal ingredients, cooked the meal AND done the cakes I’d have been too worn out to enjoy the party with everyone else.
